Diane was admitted at the Paris Bar in 2004 and has also been qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales since 2008.
She specialises in international successions and focuses on matters involving common law jurisdictions (within the United Kingdom and the United States in particular) and France. She mainly works in English.
She assists her clients on issues which are mainly legal but she also includes tax elements in her advice, which is provided :
– In the course of their estate planning, to determine, after a detailed review of their situation and with the assistance of foreign counsels, the strategy to be put into place in France and in the other relevant jurisdictions, her mission also including the drafting of French wills ;
– For the administration, in France, of international successions, a mission which requires to identify the applicable law and to determine the conditions of the administration of the estate, together with the drafting of any affidavit of law which may be requested to that effect ;
– For any other question which can have an impact on the clients’ future succession, in particular in the event of investments (purchase of real property mainly) in France.
Diane holds degrees from the universities of Paris I (Sorbonne), Paris II (Assas) and Oxford, as well as a PhD on the private international law of trusts from the university of Paris I (Sorbonne).
She has always been practising between Paris and London, where she travels regularly, and she often speaks at conferences, in France and abroad.
Diane also teaches at the university of Paris-Dauphine and she regularly publishes articles in specialised journals.
She is also a member of various societies, in France and abroad, among which :
– The Franco-British Lawyers Society: committee member of the French branch and administrator of the English Charity;
– STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners): full member (TEP) of STEP France ;
– The International Academy of Estate and Trust Law (TIAETL);
– The Comité français de droit international privé ;
– The American Bar Association (ABA, Section of International Law).
